Hello. I have a 2018 690 Enduro that has almost 3000 miles on it so far. Since the beginning, I've always had to add oil every few rides. I fill it up so the oil is in the correct spot in the viewing window and then after a few rides it goes down past the bottom of the window.

Break the top nut loose while the forks are still in the triple clamp, then remove them from the triple, remove the nut, pour out the old oil and actuate the fork
Like other 690 singles, the KTM 690 Duke and Duke R have fairly aggressive (for KTM) service intervals of 10000 km / 6200 miles. You have to do a service on the 690 Duke every 10000 km (6200 miles), at which point you change the oil and filter, clean the oil screens, change the air filter and fuel screen, and check the valve clearances.
This engine is shared with the KTM 690 Enduro, Only word of caution make sure you use the very expensive Motul 10-60 recommended oil and i would change more frequently than the recommended 6k

If your bike is a 14MY then there is a knob under the seat to adjust the fuel mapping. Check your owners manual. You dont want to run the bike on "bad fuel setting". KTM makes an oil cooler for the 690 SMC that can be adapted with a bit of fabrication/bracket to fit the Enduro. Anyhow, I would take the bike back to the dealer.
take front fender off. now, look up, into the bottom of the lower triple clamp. unscrew the alum. silver 28mm bolt at the center. note the dot on the steering stem. if it's oriented to the rear of bike & at the no. 32, then that's the offset dim for smaller trail dim.
RiverRunner. Posted June 29, 2015. We rode 690's at a factory ride at a local dealer. Ktm brought in a Semi of 690's, 1190's and a 1290 I think. I too thought the low end was gutless and the front end wondered. Everyone told me the bikes if set up correctly had great low end punch and were solid on the front end.
